Job Description:

Assistant Manager, Review & Compliance (Karachi)

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for a seasoned and dynamic compliance professional for its Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the overall institutional compliance framework and creating a compliant culture including identification and resolution of non-compliant matters;
  • Develop compliance activity plan and prioritizing them on risk bases;
  • Follow-up on identified weaknesses, findings and recommendations from internal/external audit and periodic compliance reviews; 
  • Evaluate the potential for fraud and the management of fraud risk in consultation with Manager Finance,; 
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend for more effective processes as per institutional needs and best practices;
  • Ensure timely dissemination of any amendments to the existing policies or introduction of new systems and procedures by the management. Periodic review of new system and identification of gaps to ensure effective results;
  • Manage central depository of all permanent records and custody of legal documents; 
  • Review and evaluate payment vouchers from all regions and central office to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with AKHS,P and donor policies, agreements, specific and general conditions etc.; 
  • Timely filling of SECP returns and ensuring compliance with SECP and FBR requirements and filling dates;
  • Closely follow and review ROP Tracking sheet on a regular basis to ensure timely processing of payments & highlighting delays to concerned officer to expedite payments; 
  • Review donor reports and completeness of records;  
  • Coordinate with regional team and reviewing payments;
  • Liaise with HR department to ensure availability of all required documents and processes to be followed; 
  • Review daily, monthly bank reconciliation and support in resolving bank related matters; 
  • Assisting managers in monthly and annual closing processes.

Education, Experience & Competencies

  • MBA / ACCA or equivalent;
  • 3-5 years of working experience (including 3 years of post-qualification experience in compliance management) preferably with a large health care set-up;
  • Sound knowledge of overall financial systems, International Financial Reporting Standards and statutory/tax regulations;
  • Good business acumen with ability to analyse in depth issues;
  • Excellent proficiency with computers particularly MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint is required;
  • Excellent knowledge of accountancy obligations and rules and tax implications;
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment;
  • Highly proficient in presentation applications and incline towards working in a technology-driven environment.
