Job description:

Manager Accounts and Tax 

The candidate should have extensive knowledge of UK tax and UK GAAP, he would also be required to draft and finalize accounts from bookkeeping records for small and medium-sized limited companies along with assisting the Director to deliver the tasks on time.

The role will cover but not be limited to:

• Review of Annual accounts, Vat returns, EC Sales, Management accounts, Management reports;
• Preparation of financial reports and letters for management, shareholders, directors, statutory, and other bodies;
• Preparation of tax returns, written advice for tax problems for a range of different clients;
• Analyzing financial information for management purposes;
• Preparing periodic accounts on time, budgets and reviews, and financial forecasts
• Highly competent in double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliation of bank and control accounts, dealing with fixed asset additions and disposals and depreciation, lease and HP contracts, and posting of journals
• Extensive experience and a high level of understanding of bookkeeping on Xero and QuickBooks is must.
• Able to prepare the bookkeeping records to trial balance
• Processing of accrual and prepayments
• Closing off month/year-end accounts
• Processing information for VAT returns and submission
• A good level of knowledge and experience with cloud-based accounting software is desirable

Skills needed:

• At least 3-5 years working as an accountant in a practice environment
• Must be CA
• First-class communication skills and be capable of liaising and forming relationships with clients
• Highly IT literate including Excel, Xero, QuickBooks, and other bookkeeping packages
• Exceptional attention to detail, and highly organized whilst working to tight deadlines
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who can demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative
• Ability to work autonomously and is methodical
• Be a team player
