Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive technical audits of websites to identify and resolve technical SEO issues, including crawling and indexing problems, site speed, mobile optimization (image size, page/viewport width, mobile click ability of elements, readability) and other technical related issues.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, changes in search engine algorithms, and new technologies in order to recommend and implement advancements in technical SEO practices.
• Monitoring and identifying any SEO issues that may prevent the top performance of our company and client websites.
• Identifying changes needed to each website according to best SEO practices, and Google Core Updates.
• Create and maintain technical SEO documentation, including site maps, robots.txt files, schema markup, and other important elements.
• Implement and manage schema markup and rich snippets.
• Monitor, analyze and fix Google Search Console alerts, errors and messages.
• Analyze and track website traffic and rankings using analytics tools.
• Conduct research to analyze our websites and determine opportunities.
• Conduct monthly recurring SEO maintenance tasks for company and client web properties.

Technical Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of cross-browser compatibility – how to determine compatibility and how to correct issues.
• Experience diagnosing crawling, rendering, and indexing issues.
• Working experience with best practices across technical SEO topics (e.g., XML sitemaps, JavaScript rendering, disallow, nofollow, canonical, noindex, redirects, website architecture, server logs)
• Familiarity with Programmatic SEO.
• Experience developing websites with SEO best practices.
• In-depth experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console.
• In-depth experience with Ahrefs, Moz, Semrush, On Crawl, Screaming Frog.
• 3+ years working as web-dev or similar position (can be concurrent with time spent as an SEO)
• Familiarity with WordPress, Hubspot, Shopify, Bigcommerce, Webflow and similar content management platforms.
• Ability to grasp complex technical processes, analyze data sets, and spontaneously discuss strategy or findings with cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Proven SEO experience, 5-7 years
• 3+ years working as web-dev or similar position (can be concurrent with time spent as an SEO)
• Expert-level understanding of technical and content elements that impact organic search performance rankings.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development.
• Server-side experience a plus
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently or in a remote setting.
